Oral History Project Set to Capture Memories of Kingstanding Estate

An oral history project, which aims to capture and collect memories from the Kingstanding estate, is due to start this week with a launch event at Kingstanding Library. The project, titled ‘Voices of Kingstanding’ is lead by local community historian Chris Hillcox and will try to record and preserve memories of the estates residents from the time the estate was built. The project will open on Tuesday 18th January with a meeting at Kingstanding Library between 2.30 and 3.20. The session will give residents a chance to express an interest in having their memories recorded. The project will run for one year and the results will be displayed on a web site here before being transferred to the archive section of Birmingham Central Library.
