‘B44’ based YEP Media are pleased to announce the launch of an exciting new project called ‘Say it Online’. Part of the Birmingham City Council’s ‘Say Hello’ campaign. The project aims to engage families with the digital media and help build awareness of how digital media can be used in everyday life.
The Say it Online project will see six local families immerse themselves in Birmingham’s arts and cultural activities for a period of four weeks (beginning 13th Feb – 13thMarch 2011). During the four weeks each family will attend four different events within the city and express their views and opinions online, celebrating Birmingham’s diverse arts & culture.
The four week project will offer one parent and one child a stimulating opportunity to experience arts and culture within the city, explore different digital media avenues and how to use them as well as learning journalistic skills (writing techniques) and the chance to provide a ‘voice’ for citizens of Birmingham.
Each family will enjoy and learn more about what the city has to offer but also gain knowledge of how technology can bring families together from different generations, through activities all the family can take pleasure in.
Not only does each family get to take away that experience, there will be an opportunity at the end of the project to formally celebrate the participation of each member at the ‘Said it Online’ awards ceremony; where a certificate of achievement will be awarded.
